The C64 Collection 2
SCORE: 69
I am extremely thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of The C64
Collection 2 after the PR and Marking folks representing this game
failed us so horribly. There are fourteen 8-bit home computer video
games included on the The C64 Collection 2 cartridge. There is also a
manual that comes with this package. Families must use the virtual
keyboard in certain parts of certain games on the The C64 Collection 2
cartridge.
The games included on the The C64 Collection 2 cartridge are California
Games, World Games, Impossible Mission II, Pitstop II, Sword of Fargoal,
Street Sports Basketball, Urdium, Cybernoid, Nebulus, Firelord, Slayer,
Zamzara, Insects in Space, and Mission Impossibubble. There are three
sports games, one racing, three platformers, one action, three shoot em
ups, one adventure, and one action role playing game. There are a few
stand out titles on the The C64 Collection 2 cartridge for different
reasons. Some of the games are better than others in my opinion.
Nebulus is a great idea for a video game. Sadly it is extremely
frustrating. Zamzara has horrible design that makes this game very
aggravating. Firelord is interesting but also extremely confusion. Why
are we going into houses and stealing? Street Sports Basketball is
supposed to be for one or two players but the computer never tried to
play against me at all. Cybernoid has horrible controls that the player
must map before every single game. World Games and California Games are
both cool and lame at the same time. Those two sports games are tough to
figure out. How do the controls work? The manual states varies by event.
Then later in the physical manual gives a few pointers.
Sword of Fargoal is one of my favorite games on the The C64 Collection 2
cartridge. Insects in Space has what looks like a naked woman shooting
aliens to save the people. Sort of like that old Defender video game
concept. Mission Impossibubble was annoying to figure out. Mission
Impossible II is a lot like the original. If you want to spend the time
to find the clues you could have fun with that game.
There is some violent content found in many of the games on the The C64
Collection 2 cartridge. Pitstop II is tough to master. These games are
from when the computer was really hard on the player.
