The Rising of the Shield Hero 14
SCORE: 70
Another month and another Shield Hero manga book. This time it is The
Rising of the Shield Hero 14. This manga book contains chapters
fifty-four through fifty-eight. There are parts in The Rising of the
Shield Hero 14 that definitely remind me of the anime. At least what I
remember of the anime at this particular portion of time. There are some
really interesting things that will be happening very soon in this manga
as long the anime was faithful.
There will be spoilers in my review of the The Rising of the Shield Hero
14 manga book. The Spirit Tortoise regenerates its head and starts to go
on a rampage again in The Rising of the Shield Hero 14. There are even
evacuations of nearby towns. Someone or something is controlling the
Spirit Tortoise. The Shield Hero and his party must find some way to
stop the Spirit Tortoise.
Ost is the human familiar of the Spirit Tortoise and she offers her
help. The goal of the Spirit Tortoise is to collect souls and use that
as a power to protect the entire world from the waves. This is sort of a
back up plan in case the heroes in the world are no good and cannot be
trusted to protect the world. Many of the characters are greatly
offended by the purpose of the Spirit Tortoise.
Fitoria shows up in The Rising of the Shield Hero 14 to help slow down
the Spirit Tortoise. There is some blood and gore as the heads of the
Spirit Tortoise are chopped off. The Rising of the Shield Hero 14 also
contains some magic, violence, and bad language. It is nice to see the
hero in The Rising of the Shield Hero 14 try and save as many people as
possible. Ost even helps the Shield Hero with that evil shield.
The Shield Hero and his party find a way into the body of the Spirit
Tortoise. They take out the heart and Ost figures out where the
controller is hiding. So the next manga book should get pretty
interesting. I am curious to see how closely the anime was to the manga.
The Rising of the Shield Hero 14 does a good job of moving the story
forward in a meaningful way. Plus readers are kept hanging for what
comes next.
