The Ultimates #1

After reading the Ultimate Invasion series I thought I would check The Ultimates #1. This comic book contains thirty pages of comic book content. There is also an intro page, and a credits page in The Ultimates #1. Advertisements can be found all throughout the The Ultimates #1 comic book. The brand new cost of The Ultimates #1 was $5.99. A little pricey for the comic book content.

There will be spoilers in my review of the The Ultimates #1 comic book. The Maker is locked away for eighteen months in The Ultimates #1. Iron Lad (aka Tony Stark) is building his own team to try and combat The Maker in the future. The first idea was to try time travel. They sent boxes back into time to try and make the heroes The Maker stopped from being created in the first place. That failed in almost every case.

The next idea the team came up with was to go to these would be heroes themselves. They get Ant-Man and Wasp to join them on this cause. They get the two of them to become the heroes they were always mean to be. They defeat Captain Britian in the process. The issues families can have with The Ultimates #1 are violence, blood, false gods, and more. There are some gross things like Wasp flying through someone's head and then throwing up.

Iron Lad has Thor, Captain America, Doom (actually a Reed Richards), Sif on his team in the beginning. They are labeled as terrorists in this world. They are trying to set things right according to other universes in Marvel. The multiverse belief is taught in The Ultimates #1. I did find the page near the end of The Ultimates #1 about failure to be interesting. The world map in The Ultimates #1 is also fascinating.

I will read this series a bit more. I am curious to see where things go after The Ultimates #1. The alternate universe is interesting in The Ultimates #1. I am not a fan of the price of The Ultimates #1. It was interesting to see The Maker win in the previous series. The whole time travel concept in The Ultimates #1 is interesting. It might eventually explain how all those incursions happened in the past. I am concerned this series is just going to become another slightly different version of the main Marvel universe.
