The Ultimates #4

I am wondering where this series is going. The Ultimates #4 seems like a complete waste of time to me. The Ultimates #4 cost me $4.99. There are twenty-one pages of comic book content within The Ultimates #4. Advertisements can be found throughout the The Ultimates #4 comic book. There is an intro page, credits page, and a Roster page within the The Ultimates #4 comic book. I feel like so much space was wasted in The Ultimates #4.

There will be spoilers in my review of the The Ultimates #4 comic book. There are two stories that are told within The Ultimates #4. We go back and forth between them in panels in The Ultimates #4. The first story is a conversation between Iron Lad and Doom. Doom is making progress on un-making what the Maker made. Doom is also not happy that certain tools are not available for use.

The second story in The Ultimates #4 is showing what happened to Reed Richards to make him Doom. We get a really interesting backstory on Doom in The Ultimates #4. Doom is also experimenting on the cosmic particles on rats in The Ultimates #4. The rats get the same powers as the Fantastic Four. There is one major problem with the rats though. They all wind up dying. It is implied that the Fantastic Four also died.

There are interactions between The Maker and Doom in The Ultimates #4 shown in the flashbacks. The Maker convinced Reed Richards that he was Doom. I find something a bit odd in The Ultimates #4. The Maker is Reed Richards, and Doom in The Ultimates #4 is also Reed Richards. How many different versions of Reed Richards do we need in this series? It feels a bit lazy to me to have multiple Reed Richards.

There are fourteen months left after The Ultimates #4. Since the majority of The Ultimates #4 is backstory we do not really progress the main story much of anywhere. I find this annoying. I am already feeling like the price is too high for the amount of comic book content in this series. Wasting my time with an entire issue that goes nowhere is honestly annoying too.
