Tweety & Sylvester #85
SCORE: 77
I found so many interesting and cool things to review on that trip to
McKay's in the year of our Lord 2023. Tweety & Sylvester #85 is one of
those things. This comic book originally sold in September of 1978 for
thirty-five cents. It cost me $2.75 to purchase. I did not even know the
number of this comic book until I opened it up and got a look inside.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Tweety & Sylvester #85 comic
book.
Tweety & Sylvester #85 is very old school in the way of having multiple
stories. The first story in Tweety & Sylvester #85 is Muscle Tussle, and
it is five pages long. The second story is A Bird in the Hand Worth Two
in the Puss, and it is four pages long. The third story in Tweety &
Sylvester #85 is Fakes & Fortunes, and it is seven pages long. The last
story in Tweety & Sylvester #85 is Job Jinx and it is six pages long.
There are a few interesting cameo appearances within Tweety & Sylvester
#85. We gt Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig at one point in Tweety & Sylvester
#85. There is magic, cartoon violence, and more within Tweety &
Sylvester #85. Two characters pose as psychics to steal possessions from
another character. Sylvester is the one that gets stolen from but he
gets a magic wand that gives him whatever he wants for a bit. He is
threatened by other characters so he breaks the magic wand.
Tweety & Sylvester #85 definitely has the Looney Tunes concepts within
it. Sylvester learns karate and tries to use it to help a character that
had their fish stolen by a bully. Sadly the training did not really help
him out. Tweety saves the day with a distraction so the thief walks into
something and knocks themselves out. Tweety then lies to Sylvester about
who stopped the thief.
The art is not the greatest and Tweety & Sylvester #85 definitely shows
its age. There are some interesting older advertisements within Tweety &
Sylvester #85. I noticed a pinup girl poster that is really hard to see
in Tweety & Sylvester #85. Tweety is not much of a help to Sylvester
when he is working a delivery job. In fact Tweety causes more problems
than actually helping which is not cool.
