Doom Academy #1

Doom Academy #1

I decided to try out Doom Academy #1. This comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty-five pages of comic book content within Doom Academy #1. There is an intro and credits page within Doom Academy #1 as well. We are also given a page devoted to Doom Academy Dispatch in this comic book. Doom Academy #1 also contains a page devoted to the next issue. I do not plan on continue to read this series.

Sometimes one comic book is so bad I do not want to go back to it. The dialogue in Doom Academy #1 was boring beyond belief. The issues families can have with Doom Academy #1 are magic, sexual deviancy, and more. There are multiple references to Satan and the Devil within Doom Academy #1. Zoe is not very happy about Doom taking over the Strange Academy. Not everyone came back either in terms of students.

Zoe gets a new roommate and they are not getting along very well. A lot of Doom Academy #1 is commentary about how Doctor Doom took over and they are not too sure about what the future will hold. They are trying to give Doctor Doom a chance but there are too many strange changes that bother many of the students. The alternative would be to go to a normal human school.

There are cringe parts of Doom Academy #1 that feel woke. For example there is talk about the school student paper and journalistic integrity in Doom Academy #1. Scoop runs the paper and his dad is part of the propaganda arm of Latveria. That reminds me the school is now in the country of Latveria as well. Not everyone was comfortable with going to that country for school in Doom Academy #1.

The most interesting thing about Doom Academy #1 is the ending. Zoe keeps hearing this voice so she follows until she finds this book that sucks her in. That almost makes me interested in continuing this series. Just not enough though. Plus I have read about some of these characters before. I did not like them then, and I am not a fan of them in Doom Academy #1. There is also very little Doom in Doom Academy #1. Unless you count the creepy paintings.
