DuckTales #2
SCORE: 74
Every time I think about this comic book series I think about the
theme song from the late 80s cartoon. There are twenty-two pages of
comic book content within DuckTales #2. The cost of this comic book
brand new was $4.99. I know of other comic books that have the exact
same page count and they are one dollar cheaper. So why is DuckTales #2
$4.99? The credits can be found on the back of the front cover of the
DuckTales #2 comic book.
There will be spoilers in my review of the DuckTales #2 comic book. This
is the second part of the storyline of the four corners of your world.
The layout of DuckTales #2 is interesting indeed. The first eleven pages
are the mainline story in modern day art. Then we have four pages done
in the old style of art with a story called Dime after Dime. After that
DuckTales #2 has seven pages done in the modern style and the original
storyline is continued.
We have a page in DuckTales #2 where there is information on the next
issue. DuckTales #2 also contains some advertisements and a cover
gallery. It looks like the Beagle Boys will be coming real soon in this
franchise. There is a bit of violence, and magic in DuckTales #2. Magica
makes an appearance in the past memory four pages and wants to get the
number one dime from Scrooge.
The main storyline in DuckTales #2 shows Scrooge taking his nephews to
the movies. He insists on paying for them. He does own the movie theater
so he could technically get in for free. There is some humor as lazy
employees do not notice him at first in DuckTales #2. Once those lazy
employees see who he is they are on the ball. Reminds me of those old
car stickers: "Quick look busy, Jesus is Coming." I prefer to stay busy
and do the right thing as often as possible.
Scrooge realizes that he is missing one dime from his change when he got
scared in the movie and money fell on the floor. The employees were
taking the money they found on the floor to save to become partners with
Scrooge on a business venture. They had been saving movie memorabilia
when everyone else was throwing it away. That made it much more
valuable. Scrooge decided not to have them arrested and talk more in the
near future. The lesson in DuckTales #2 is to never throw anything away.
