DuckTales #3
SCORE: 75
I am extremely thankful I had the $4.99 to purchase a copy of the
DuckTales #3 comic book. There are twenty-two pages of comic book
content within DuckTales #3. The storyline is told back and forth
between the past and the present within DuckTales #3. Interested in the
credits? All you need to do is look at the back side of the front cover.
There is a page devoted to the next issue, some advertisements and the
cover gallery near the end of the DuckTales #3 comic book.
I will include spoilers in my review of the DuckTales #3 comic book.
There is an immediate shock in DuckTales #3. Why is that? Mr McDuck is
in prison. Why is Scrooge in jail with the Beagle Boys? As we hop around
from the past to the present we learn that answer. Scrooge and his
nephews are digging in a mine to find some gems. The market has gotten
better for these specific gems.
What does that have to do with the Beagle Boys. Well the Beagle Boys and
their mom are digging out of prison in DuckTales #3. They meet up at the
same place and there is a cave in. To make matters worse Scrooge and Ma
Beagle swap places. The Beagle Boys are caught with Scrooge McDuck and
the officers assume Scrooge helped them break out. As if that makes any
logical sense.
The nephews and Ma Beagle are trying to get them out of jail. Scrooge
finds gems while digging in the prison yard in DuckTales #3. The boys
convince the guards to let Scrooge go. Scrooge has an idea in DuckTales
#3 as well. Scrooge decides that the gems need to go toward the inmates
paying back their debt to society. Which is a very nice touch within
DuckTales #3. There is also a lesson about listening to your elders.
There is a little bit of cartoon violence within DuckTales #3. Scrooge
and his nemesis really like to fight one another in DuckTales #3. There
is also talk about lying and being deceptive in DuckTales #3. Overall
DuckTales #3 is a decent entry into this series. I am curious to see
where this comic book goes after this issue. I have some ideas but I am
interested in reading it for myself.
