Gargoyles Winter Special #1
SCORE: 77
I saw an advertisement in another Disney related Dynamite comic book
for Gargoyles Winter Special #1. I asked the local comic book store to
add to my pull. I have now read Gargoyles Winter Special #1. Reading
might be a bit of a stretch though. Let me explain that in just a little
bit. The cost of Gargoyles Winter Special #1 was $5.99 brand new. There
are twenty-eight pages of comic book content within Gargoyles Winter
Special #1.
I am going to go all math nerd geek on all ya'll. The other Disney
Dynamite comic books have twenty-four pages and sell for $4.99. That is
20.83 cents per page. Gargoyles Winter Special #1 is 21.42 cents per
page. I thought four more pages for one dollar did not sound right until
I ran the numbers. I already thought the Dynamite comic books were a bit
on the high side. Gargoyles Winter Special #1 is even worse.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Gargoyles Winter Special #1
comic book. First off I really liked Gargoyles Winter Special #1. There
is some nice Christmas heart in Gargoyles Winter Special #1. It is
snowing in New York and one of the Gargoyles goes out in the snow. This
Gargoyles comes across a dog, and a ball of yarn from a cat. the human
had a cat carrier and the ball of yarn fell out.
The Gargoyles and the dog go into Central Park in the snow and find the
cat. She has kittens and needs help transporting them in the snow. So
the Gargoyles transports the cat and kittens to the human and the ball
of yarn. Everyone is so happy. The Gargoyles then climbs its building
and is going to be turned into stone near the end of Gargoyles Winter
Special #1. Again very heart warming.
There is hardly any writing to read. The Gargoyles and the dog make
noises like barking, but after awhile there is no need to read the
barking. After the comic book content are some advertisements and the
cover gallery. There is an interesting advertisement in Gargoyles Winter
Special #1. Darkwing Duck is getting another series with Dynamite. This
will be Darkwing Duck Vol 2. I am looking forward to that.
