Horgihugh and Friends
SCORE: 63
I felt like playing a different kind of a video game that I did not
want to stream. Guess what I saw awaiting my attention in my pile? If
you guessed Horgihugh and Friends then you would be completely accurate
and right. I did not know much about this video game before playing it.
There was a Great War, and then these aliens - Gozareans attacked. What
would this fantasy world do?
Hugh and Figaro are pilots of older planes. The duo is there to save
this world. Horgihugh and Friends is a 2D side scrolling shooter. We
must try and stay alive while shooting all of these enemy ships that
come our way. Horgihugh and Friends has retro graphics that remind me of
16-bit video games. If you love retro shooters then you might like
Horgihugh and Friends.
There is one key aspect of retro shooters I never liked. Can you guess
what that might be? It is the cranked up difficulty. There are so many
things on the screen that I get lost and usually die. Horgihugh and
Friends has this in abundance. We can only take one hit before we crash
and burn. We do not have many lives and must restart from the beginning.
There is cartoon violence within Horgihugh and Friends. Players earn
coins from the different enemies we destroy. There is a blimp that comes
by from time to time within Horgihugh and Friends. Go up into the blimp
to purchase upgrades. Power ups also appear within Horgihugh and
Friends. Those power ups can be the difference between surviving and
dying in this retro shooters.
I am not a fan of retro shooters. I see so many areas within Horgihugh
and Friends that could have been improved. Why not provide a casual mode
to this video game? You can still have the annoying ultra hard mode for
anyone that wants it. You would reach more people with Horgihugh and
Friends if there was a casual mode. These companies need to hire me as a
consultant.
