Hulk Planet

The Hulk Planet graphic novel was on the fifty percent off table at our local comic book store. I decided to pay the $8.99 to read this graphic novel. Hulk Planet contains Hulk #9 through Hulk #14 from the 2021 run. There are one hundred and thirty-six pages within Hulk Planet. We get covers, variant covers, credits and more in Hulk Planet. I read some of the digital comics that took place just prior to Hulk Planet. So I had a general idea what was going on.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Hulk Planet graphic novel. Do not confuse this graphic novel with Planet Hulk. They are too different storylines. The issues families can have with Hulk Planet are violence, blood, gore, evolution, false gods, magic, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more. Hulk Planet introduces me to the Titan version of Hulk. More on that later.

Hulk comes through a portal to a world full of characters that are like him. They are gamma radiated creatures that are strong like the Hulk. At the same time Banner is controlling the body of the Hulk and has him being run like a space ship. Hulk is what powers the body and can be made to absolutely trash things if need be. There is a game on this planet where they throw a core of a planet into asteroids and destroy them. It is a team game.

The creatures on this planet have an entire society devoted to the Hulk. They want to protect him from the nuclear warhead in his head. Banner plans on taking the Hulk out if things get too bad. Sadly for him he is not able to use it. Hulk Planet shows us that magic is what was used to create this starship Hulk. There was another mage that put something in Hulk's mind to grow and eventually take over.

What takes over in Hulk Planet is Titan. This is an angry mad version of the Hulk that is destroying anything and everything in his way. Bruce eventually gets the Hulk to defeat Titan but he is still in there somewhere. He can come back in the future. Hulk Planet feels like a lot of the Hulk stories with tragedy. It would be so nice to see a Hulk story where things go his way, he is accepted and safe.
