Pups & Purrs Pet Shop
SCORE: 80
I am very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of Pups & Purrs
Pet Shop on the Nintendo Switch. This game is similar and related to
Pups & Purrs Animal Hospital. There are some differences of course. One
of the things that bothered me about Pups & Purrs Pet Shop is we must
play a female character. There is a male character we interact with but
are forced into the role of a female. I wanted the choice to be a male
character.
It seems that this franchise and some others from Aksys Games has this
issue with it. The graphics are decent looking. There are different dogs
and cats to interact with in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop. We play different
mini games while progressing through the story mode in Pups & Purrs Pet
Shop. In fact once you start playing Pups & Purrs Pet Shop you must play
the story mode to unlock the other mode.
The music in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop is nice. I liked the special effect
sounds in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop as well. As we do well in the mini games
they get progressively more difficult. The character is paid at the end
of the day based on how they did in the mini games. That money can be
spent on different clothing that you can dress your young lady in. I
personally did not see much point in the different clothing.
The voice acting in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop is all in Japanese. We can
read it in English so at least that portion of this video game was
translated. To talk to someone we must tap the bubble over their head.
We cannot tap on the person. At times in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop it took
two taps to get the conversation to start. Other times one tap did it. I
found that a little odd.
The menu screens are a little strange in my opinion. There are work
shifts at the Pet Store in the AM and the PM in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop.
We collect stamps and achievements in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop. We can rank
up as well in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop. We get a new nickname for ranking
up. Taking care of the animals are nice and the controls work generally
well in Pups & Purrs Pet Shop.
