Superman #873
SCORE: 67
I enjoy some interesting storylines. I noticed that this current
storyline in DC Comics is pretty interesting. Superman #873 has the
reboot numbering system of Superman #30 on it. This comic book cost me
$4.99. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Superman
#873. The credits can be found on page five with some artwork. There are
some ads near the end of the Superman #873 comic book. Superman #873 is
very clear about where this storyline continues.
The issues families can have with Superman #873 are violence, blood, bad
language, false gods, and more. There are two pages with interviews and
other information near the end of Superman #873 entitled Welcome to
Metropolis. Spoilers are coming very soon in this review of the Superman
#873 comic book. The ending of the last issue had Superboy Prime turning
on Superman. I had a sneaking suspicion that it might have been an act.
Guess what? I was right. Superboy Prime pretends to be with the bad guys
until they reveal their plan. Then Superboy Prime saves Superman and
Booster Gold. Superboy Prime sends Booster Gold and Superman back to the
past through a portal. Superboy Prime stays with what is left of the
Legion of Superheroes to fight off the Legion of Darkseid near the end
of Superman #873. One of the advantages Superboy Prime has is his mind
cannot be read by the bad characters.
Superman #873 explains how the Legion of Darkseid formed. These
different characters can hear Darkseid and they go about finding one
another and then destroying the future. Superman #873 shows the future
has been conquered and now they are time traveling to change the past.
It is an interesting idea to conquer the future first, and then the past
second. Most stories have people trying to conquer the past to change
the future.
What is even more interesting about this storyline is we are not seeing
Darkseid at all in Superman #873. We know his followers are there, but
Darkseid has not been brought back yet. So there is this ominous feeling
that the big bad guy is not even arrived yet. If things are tough for
the heroes in Superman #873 how much worse will it get? I am continuing
to read the Superman comic books.
