The Fall Guy
SCORE: 71
Noah and I spent the two hours and six minutes to watch The Fall Guy
movie on DVD recently. There are some interesting things about this
movie that I hope to get into in this review. I am thankful I had the
money to purchase a copy of The Fall Guy movie. Spoilers are going to be
part of my review of The Fall Guy movie. I want to get that out there.
Some of the concepts within this movie really need to be explored.
Normally I hate movies that are about making movies. It just feels like
back patting, and self congratulations. There are some interesting
things that pop up in The Fall Guy. Colt Seavers is the main character
in The Fall Guy. Colt is played by Ryan Goslin. Emily Blunt plays Jody
Moreno. Colt and Jody are in a relationship. Colt is the stunt man and
Jody is the camera woman. Colt gets injured in what we first believe is
an accident.
We later find out that the action star Tom Ryder actually caused the
accident that broke the back of Colt in The Fall Guy. Jody gets her
first big break as a director and Gail Meyers (a big Hollywood producer)
brings Colt back into the business. Jody is initially mad at Colt for
ghosting her. She wanted to be there for him. He did not want anyone
around him because he thought the accident was his fault.
Colt gets framed for a murder of another stunt man that Tom Ryder
killed. The goal is then to get Tom to confess and take that tape to the
police. They also deep faked Colt onto the video of where Tom killed the
other stunt man. The issues families can have with The Fall Guy are lack
of attire, enticement to lust, violence, blood, bad language, and more.
Much of the content is lighter than I expected.
There are some cool scenes like the fight in that giant metal bucket
while it was spinning around. Colt and Jody have conversations in The
Fall Guy about happy endings. It feels like real life and not the movie.
Lee Majors makes an appearance in the scene in the credits in The Fall
Guy. The whole scummy nature of Hollywood is exposed a bit in The Fall
Guy. Also how the stars like to keep others down is touched upon in this
movie.
