Top 8 things the Holy Bible can teach video games

Cordova, TN., (March 13, in the year of our Lord 2013) – We were talking here at Family Friendly Gaming about some ideas for original news stories. Plenty of websites have ideas they publish on what video games can learn from other industries. Things like movies, television, and more. Yet throughout it all we could not find one of them that pointed to anything of real importance. Then it was revealed to us – the Holy Bible. The guide to life has all kinds of helpful information in it. Please join us on this helpful original news story on the top eight things the Holy Bible can teach video games.

5 Discipline is important
These topics are all difficult to deal with, which is why it is so important the video game industry learn from them. Discipline is extremely important. There are too many people running around who were not properly disciplined as children. Their adult temper tantrums, and all forms of rages need to be dealt with. Video games can be used to teach the entire culture how important loving discipline is. They can also show ways to deal with those who are ruining themselves because they were not properly disciplined when they were younger. None of us enjoy discipline at the time, but we improve because of the loving guidance.

Proverbs 3:11-13
11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

Proverbs 12:1
12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid.

Revelation 3:19
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.

6 It is better to do as God says as opposed to what man says
Too often there is group think. The herd runs off the cliff to their own doom and demise. Thinking for yourself is not being encouraged anymore. Looking to God for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding is also not being encouraged. Yet it take a courageous person to look to what God finds important. It takes a strong person to obey God over man. Video games can show that following God is more important than the disobedient ideas of man. I fear God's wrath way more than I fear any anger from mere humans.

Acts 5:29
29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!

7 We are prone to errors - turn to God when we do
We are all going to mess up. We are all going to sin. The mistakes we make do not define us. How we react afterwards is what defines us. Do we accept responsibility for our mistakes? Do we come clean on what we did wrong? Do we repent from our sins? Do we ask forgiveness from others? Video games could be a wonderful tool helping human beings face these issues. Video games can be used to train people to do the right thing. So after enough practice of doing it in a game we can all be confident we will do the right thing in the real world. There are so many examples of people doing the wrong thing in this age that it is scary. Video games have the opportunity to step up to the plate and make a positive impact on our culture.

Acts 20:21
21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 26:18
18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Hebrews 3:12
12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.

8 Sacrifice - Christ sacrificed himself for us
Jesus was very clear in John 15:13 (“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”). He sacrificed much for us, yet so many refuse to make sacrifices for Him. He treated us better than we deserved to be treated. Too often we see examples of selfishness in a wide array of arenas. We see less examples of selfless sacrifice. Yet it is in all of us. We all have the ability to put others before ourselves. We all have the opportunity to help others out. Family Friendly Gaming strives for this on a daily basis. We have made waves in our missions field. Video games could send a tsunami across our entire culture. Video games can show thinking of others first is the honorable path.

Romans 3:24-26
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Hebrews 9:28
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Philippians 2:5-8
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
