Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker

If you watch our FFG Haul live streams (or as a video later on) then you knew Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is something I purchased in November 2020 as part of the Black Friday sales that went on all month long. I expected Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker to be cringe worthy. I am glad this trilogy is finished. I have been wanting to get past this trilogy since Disney bought this franchise and ran it into the ground with horrible redefinitions.

Everything that happened in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is predictable. I could tell what was about to happen each and every single time. There were no surprises in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker whatsoever. The lack of logic in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker baffles me. Too much of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker makes little to no sense. More on that in this review with a spoiler alert of course.

Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker gives us blood, violence, death, lack of attire, enticement to lust, force religious beliefs, bad language, ghosts, death and more. Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker repeats a certain lesson. The lesson is we are not alone, and they win by making us feel alone. It is funny that theme is found in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. Liberals have been attacking conservatives with that theme for decades now. It is interesting to see a Holly Weird movie acknowledge that theme.

It takes 142 minutes to watch Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker from start to finish. All of the known Star Wars things are in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. Sadly they all fall short. None of the cast spoke to me. None of the cast represented me. I did not connect with one character in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker at all. How bad did they do that they could not reach a Star Wars science fiction fanboy?

SPOILER ALERT! The ending of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker lacks so much logic it baffles me. Emperor Palpatine was alive (not explained) and wants Rey Palpatine (his grand daughter) to kill him so all the Sith can inhabit her. She won’t do it, so Ben Skywalker (once Kylo Ren) joins her to fight Emperor Palpatine. Rey won’t kill him and gets her life sucked from her (Ben too). Ben gets thrown in a pit because that is what Darth Vader did to the Emperor. The Emperor uses his lightning on the ships and Rey comes back to life with all of the Jedi in her. She fights and kills the Emperor with all of the Sith in him. She does not inherit the Sith, and dies. Ben climbs up the pit and saves her life. They kiss and Ben dies. Rey goes to Tatooine to bury lightsabers and calls herself a Skywalker.
